Microsoft is currently preparing its next big update for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008. The second service pack was revealed at the end of October, but has now reached another milestone. Microsoft has announced a Costumer Preview Program (CPP) version of SP2 Beta. This means that people subscribing to TechNet or MSDN can download the Service Pack 2 beta for Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008. Microsoft revealed that it will released the update to its Costumer Preview Program on December 4.

”The CPP is intended for technology enthusiasts, developers, and IT Pros who would like to test Service Pack 2 in their environments and with their applications prior to final release. For most customers, our best advice would be to wait until the final release prior to installing this service pack.”

Service Pack 2 will offer faster and better searches with Windows Search 4.0, support for Blu-ray burning directly in Vista, better WiFi configuration and improved Bluetooth support.

More information on Service Pack 2 for Vista and Server 2008 can be found in Microsoft’s documentation.
