TDK has during CES in Las Vegas continued to boost the Blu-ray technology and this year it has made Live demonstrations of its 200GB BD media. TDK presented this high-capacity media already a year ago, but this is the first time it has shown a working disc live. 200GB Blu-ray discs is hardly needed today and the fact is that TDK still hasn’t begun shipping its 100GB media. Anyway, this is another proof of the scalability of the Blu-ray technology and at the same time TDK has also announced that it will launch mini Blu-ray media in 2007. These 8cm discs will hold 7.5GB and is mainly for digital video cameras using optical media.
