SuperTalent was one of the first to present a USB memory stick using the new SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface. First it made an official press release but has now follows up with some teasing. It has shared a video where it has shows the USB 3.0 memory stick connected first to a regular USB 2.0 port, and then a SuperSpeed USB 3.0 port. Even if the presentation is a bit weird, the difference is breathtaking.

With USB 2.0 the memory achieves read speeds of 31.5MB/s and write speeds of 23.2MB/s. When the exact same memory is connected to through USB 3.0 the speeds increase to 136.1MB/s and 78.5MB/s respectively. Not up to the speeds promised in the press release, but still impressive.

If nothing else USB 3.0 shows promise before coming generations. This is just the first of many USB 3.0 products to come.
