Radeon X1950XTX will be launched next month and what many wants to know is how the new GDDR4 memory circuits will affect the performance of ATI’s R580 circuit. Something that is also extra interesting is ATI’s new cooler that will be more effective and quieter than previous models. Since ATI’s previous flagships have had a bad reputation of being really loud it’s truly time ATI tries to solve this with a new cooler. We’ve earlier been able to publish a picture of X1950XTX and its new cooler, but now our Taiwanese colleagues at HKEPC has announced that these were pictures of a preproduction sample.

It has namely received the retail version of X1950XTX and taken a photo of what is suppose to be the card that customers will be able to expect when ATI launches its new card. It is still a bit unclear how many manufacturers that will choose ATI’s reference cooler or go for their own version. But it is still going to be interesting to see what progress ATI has made with the new cooling, but until then we will have to settle for a closer look at the card and the cooler from a strictly esthetic point of view.
