Nokia N810 is a so called Internet Tablet that, even if it may look like a regular mobile phone, is intended for browsing the web and communicating over wireless networks such as WiFi and Bluetooth. Nokia N810 is shipped with Internet Tablet OS, also known as Maemo. It’s based on Debian GNU/Linux and has borrowed a lot of things from the GNOME project. There are a lot of software mods for Nokia N810, but the latest one may very well be the coolest in a very long time.

It may not be the most useful, but it certainly wakes nostalgic feelings since the user has installed the ancient operating system Windows 3.1 on his tablet. A user called jmayson has published a picture and a short instruction to how he managed to get Windows 3.1 running on his Nokia N810 through DOSBox. Unfortunately there is no solution for how to move the mouse pointer.

It may not be the most useful of mods, but it’s certainly worth some attention just because of the nostalgia.
