NEC has designed a 43″ widescreen monitor that puts a stretch on the word widescreen. The monitor sporting 32:10 image ratio is called CRV43 (letters are short for CuRVe). It is namely bent so that the broad screen doesn’t get too annoying. CRV43 has 2880×900 pixel resolution, which is double WXGA+ resolution, and 0.02ms response time. The response time, and the depth of the monitor, reveals that NEC uses DLP technology and not the more common LCD technology.

The monitor is built around four DLP monitors that use LED for backlighting. The CRV43 monitor sports the latest digital inputs, like DVI-D and HDMI 1.3, which together with 12-bit picture handling and 10,000:1 contrast ratio should result in excellent image quality.

Even if most gamers may be wanting one this beast is intended for more ”serious” buyers, which is also cemented by the price tag of around $8,000.
