News has been spreading around the web about the NEC’s new duallayer burner 2510. Some people over at rpc1.org has recently posted a hacked firmware that will convert your regular 2500A into a 2510.

This also seem to be the case with Lite On’s 812s, which can be upgraded to the 832s.
Tests indicate that they seem to work, however upgrading your DVD-burner with a hacked BIOS should always be taken with great precautions!
UPDATE: Well know the guys over at club.cdfreaks.com seem to have evidence that the NEC 2510 is in fact a 2100.
