MSI 945P Platinum Deluxe with DTS-sound

945P Platinum Deluxe is the latest addition to MSI’s Intel-series of mainboards and the  new mainboard supports among others Pentium D (dual-core) and 1066MHz bus. Except for the usual features such as support for PCIe x16 grafik, 667MHz DDR2-SDRAM and SATA2 945P Platinum Deluxe also supports DTS-sound. The nameboard will namely be able to encode a 7.1 signal in realtime in DTS-format and also simulate 7.1 sound from a stereo source such as MP3. Thus SoundStorm look-a-like but better.

This is according to MSI the first mainboard ever to support DTS and we are surely looking forward to hearing more of this board. We knew ”DTS-mainboards” was coming and it is going to be very interesting to see how well it works. SoundStorm was, well deserved, as the best of the best when it came to integrated sound circuits.
