Well, I’m going to keep this presentation short. Merom, new CPU from Intel featuring 4MB L2 cache, two cores and if you thought that Yonah was the fastest thing around, prepare to be shocked.
Xtremesystems.org member coolaler got hold on one of Intel’s new mobile CPU’s, a Merom T7400 and got some pretty amazing benchmark results. Running at 2.8GHz the Merom CPU litteraly kicked a 3.2Ghz Yonah T2600’s butt in SuperPI 1M, scoring 18.172s vs. the Yonah’s 18.594s. However these are just synthetic benchmarks, and SuperPI has always favoured Intel, but even in 3dmark01 and 03 Merom shows off with it’s extreme computing power! Gaining almost 5k in 01 and 1k in 03 over Yonah. Ladies and gentlemen, fellow overclockers and forum-readers, allow me to present to you, Merom!
