The first mainboards with VIA’s new KT400A-chipset has begun to appear on the market. Gigabyte’s contribution is one of the very first, which Anandtech has taken a closer look at.

With many features and a good performance the 7VAXP-A Ultra seems to be a interesting mainboard. Something even more interesting is that nForce2-based boards performs better than this. We saw it already in the first tests on KT400A, but because the tests were done with a reference board we could not be 100% sure. It seems that nVIDIA has done a very good job with their nForce2-chipset.
