The GeForce 7800 series with 7800GT, 7800GTX and 7800GTX 512MB is on the verge of being phased out of NVIDIA’s assortment. NVIDIA seems to be emptying its stock of 7800 based cards and the reason is of course the upcoming launch of the 7900 series, G71. Just as ATI’s Radeon X1800 series has ended up in the shadows of its younger brother the X1900 series. Too much is happening too fast at the moment and the only thing we hope is that in the end we, the consumers, are the ones who are the winners. Anyway, you shouldn’t be depressed over recently getting a 7800 based graphic card, but instead be happy over the possibilities for finding a cheaper card to use in a SLI configuration.
