Radeon X1900 GT seems to be the next video card based on ATI’s R580 circuit and now we’ve received information about the card’s specifications. It will be a stripped version of X1900 XTX as X1900 GT only comes with 12 pipelines and 36 pixel shader units, compared to 16 pipelines and 48 pixel shaders with XTX. The frequencies with X1900 GT will be 575MHz GPU and 600MHz memory, compared to 650MHz/775MHz for XTX. According to DailyTech there are already test cards of X1900 GT available and that the mass production will start at the end of the week. The price hasn’t been decided yet, but will most likely be around $300, the same as NVIDIA’s GeForce 7900 GT circuit. Since the card is based on the R580 circuit unlocking the four last pipelines may be possible, but we can’t tell for sure until we have the card in our hands.
