Ex-Apple employee boycott Blu-ray and HD DVD

Mike Evangelist is an earlier employee at Apple and is head of multimedia software such as Apple Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro and the iDVD products has now stated that he is going to boycott next generation DVD formats. It doesn’t matter whether if its Blu-ray or HD DVD that will win the battle as both of them rely on the AACS specification for copy protection. A system that according to Evangelist will kill anything even remotely similar to personal rights.

”Both HD-DVD and Blu-ray have embraced this draconian system, and the studios are salivating at the prospect of you never actually being able to own content again. My reaction to this abomination is simple: no way in hell. I will not buy any product that uses this crap,”
