Conclusion

The Lego Star Wars Millennium Falcon was a good challenge to build, without becoming a bore. As we mentioned during the building process the hardest is usually to find the right piece. They have tendencies to hide just when you need them. Most of the pieces used in this build were pretty straight forward, but there was a decent amount of special pieces.

The details and overall feel is so good you would like to meet the person who designed this and have a serious talk with him (or her?) on how they did it and explain why they should make a new Deathstar size XXL. We also want to know why there are no ewoks? How can anyone not like the ewoks (well except Darth Vader of course), but seriously … we need more ewoks.

Overall it’s a quality build, and the only exception is the problem we have with every Lego build: the stickers. They easily peel off and if you really want them to stay on permanently you have to glue them there. We can’t hold this against the Millennium Falcon though because this is a problem that has been around for ages.

Overall we feel that this is money well spent and since our general opinion on Lego is that it is probably one of the greatest inventions ever (along with fire, the wheel, cheese, beer and the transistor) and Star Wars being something everyone should experience one way or another it’s hard not to recommend Lego’s interpretation of the Millennium Falcon.

Lego Star Wars Millennium Falcon

Pros
+ Details
+ Nostalgic value
+ Repairability
+ Well designed without overdoing it

Cons
– Makes you want to build your own actual intergalactic starship, leave the planet, explore the universe, eventually return to tell your stories having no one believe and get thrown in the insane asylum
– Stickers easily fall off

”May the force be with you!”
