Zotac have been focusing less on graphics cards and more on the mini-PC and mini-ITX motherboards, but new pictures have revealed a big motherboard for LGA1155 with the Z68 chipset. We see 26-phase power supply, a hidden mini-PCI Express port with a WiFi card with two antennas.

The new card is called Zotac Crown Edition-ZT-Z68 U1DU3 and sports the very latest that could be needed for a real enthusiast system. It comes with 26 phase (24+1+1 DrMOS) power supply and several SuperML capacitors for increased stability when overclocking.

The motherboards has Intel’s fresh Z68 chipset with HDMI, DisplayPort and Dual-Link DVI video outputs. Other ports include ten USB 2.0, six USB 3.0 and eight SATA, but we don’t know if it is all SATA 6.0 Gb/s or just two of them.

There are four PCI Express ports and they support quad CrossFire/SLI thanks to the NF200 bridge from NVIDIA. Considering the placement of the ports it is more realistic to use three graphics cards, if you don’t use water or any other kind of exotic cooling.

The motherboard also has Start and Reset buttons, LEDs for troubleshotting, measuring sports for CPU, chipset, DRAM and a triple BIOS design.

The board on the pictures is ”just” an engineering sample, but it sure looks like Zotac is getting ready to tackle the enthusiast market with a new EATX motherboard. With that in mind we don’t have a launch date or even a preliminary price.
