The latest info on Windows Vista and its first Service Pack pointed to a delayed launch, meaning next year sometime. Well now it seems that Microsoft has managed to turn it all around as it has supposedly sped up the beta launch of SP1 to mid-July. Several independent sources have confirmed that SP1 Beta 1 will be released July 16 and the final version of Service Pack 1 will appear in November. If this is correct, Microsoft is on the same track as the first information suggested (a statement by Intel CEO Paul Otellini). A year ago or so, Microsoft also said that Windows Server 2008 and Vista SP1 would arrive approximately at the same time and according to sources to ZDnet this is exactly what will happen in November, 2007.
