Western Digital has announced that it has started shipping its latest 2.5″ high-end harddrive WD3200BEVT, also known as WD Scorpio 320 GB. The harddrive sports 8 MB cache, SATA interface, 5400 RPM rotational speed and an average read-search time of 12 ms. The harddrive has been equipped with Whisperdrive, ShockGuard and IntelliSeek for the best possible performance, least noise and protection of the platters and read/write heads to ensure a long and healthy life. The harddrive costs $199 and will appear in computers from notebook manufacturers any day now.
