In a survey of New York and San Francisco the company Keynote Systems investigated how VoIP (Voice over IP) telephone services compares to the traditional phone services. The results from the tests show that VoIP has been improving and certain operators can now even offer better audio quality than the regular phone services. Overall the sound quality of VoIP is up to par with the mobile GSM net, but Internet phoning suffers from delays when the net has a high load. It seems VoIP has been improving quite a lot and it’s going to be interesting to see how the regular phone net will change in the coming years.
