VIIV arrives early next year

VIIV is Intel’s new platform which is geared for the digital multimedia home, and was introduced earlier this year. The launch of this new platofmr will happen on January 9, 2006. The platform will consist of the Pentium D 8XX/9XX series, the 945/955 chipsets and Intel’s ICH7 southbridge and can of course, and will, be completed with surround sound, network circuits and e.g. Windows MCE. DigiTimes now reports that Shuttle, AOpen, Acer, Gigabyte and MSI will all start mass producing the VIIV platform in Februari, 2006.
