Ultra Products has filed a suit against 22 power supply manufacturers, claiming breach of patent. The patent covers power supplies with modular DC (Direct Current) interface, something which we’ve seen a lot of lately, not just from Ultra. If you look at the list below, it doesn’t cover all brands with a modular interface, but we would assume this is mainly because not all brands operate in USA, or they simply pay royalties. The Justia page submitted to us doesn’t reveal much though, and it’s a bit hard to say what the outcome might be.

We will just have to wait and see how this develops.
