Turion 64 X2 will be launched in June of 2006 together with AMD’s other DDR2 processors and then it will be a 90nm model, just as AMD’s other processors with support for DDR2. HKEPC has now come across a roadmap that not only reveal details about the Turion 64 X2 we will see in June, Rev F, but also the next version of the mobile dual-core processor with the Rev G stepping. Rev F will be launched for both the stationary Socket AM2 platform and the mobile Socket S1 platform while the Rev G seems to be Socket S1 exclusive when it arrives during the second quarter of 2007. What makes the Rev G even more interesting is that AMD will use a 65nm SOI manufacturing process.

This will be the first time AMD release a mobile processor made with 65nm technology and there will be two versions of Rev G called Tyler and Sherman. Both models has despite its two cores a power consumption at only 35W and 25W. Rev G will also introduce ”100MHz Granularity” which is a technology to change the frequency of the processor in real-time depending on the load. Something that should further improve the processor’s efficiency.
