Turion 64 X2 will be AMD’s first mobile processor with dual cores and thus a very important launch considering how hard Intel is pushing for its new dual-core processors, Core Duo. We have earlier reported about information that stated that Turion X2 would be available in a variety of frequencies and at a really low voltage 1.075V, good if you want to keep power consumption down. Now we’ve received new information from the German hardware site PC Welt that reveal that these models are not the only ones we’ll see of Turion X2. There will also be a series at 1.2V, making the 1.075V models the ones used with power efficient systems and those who wants more performance and has less need for battery time should go for the 1.2V models.

Turion 64 X2 at 1.075V will be known as ”MT” while the 1.2V models will be branded ”ML”. The top model of the MT series known as Turion 64 X2 MT-42 and work at 1.8GHz at 1.075v with 2 x 1MB L2-cache. The TDP for the MT series will be 25W.

The ML series’ flagship will be known as Turion 64 X2 ML-48 and work at 2.2GHz at 1.2V and also this model sports 2 x 1MB L2-cache. The ML series has a TDP at 35W and show what various targets AMD has chosen to its new mobile processors.
