ATI is the company behind the graphics circuit found in Microsoft’s video game console Xbox 360 and it is no ordinary PC graphics circuit. ATI developed a completely new circuit for Xbox 360 and it uses a unified shader architecture where both pixel and vertex shaders use the same execution units to handle the graphics. Now ATI’s VP Rick Bergman has announced that ATI’s next generation graphic circuits will use a lot of the technology ATI used to make Xenos and hopefully this means that ATI will be going for a unified shader achkitecture with its next generation chip. An architecture supported by Microsoft’s DirectX 10 API.
