Toshiba recently launched a new laptop and this is one something out of the ordinary. We’ve earlier reported about Panasonic and its ToughBooks (1, 2 & 3) and this laptop that has been launched by Toshiba seems to be a more or less direct competitor to Panasonic’s series. Toshiba has done extensive tests with its Satellite Pro A120, which has been equiped with a 50% stronger system board, 40% stronger harddrive protection and a three times stronger display that is 150% more resistant than a regular laptop.
”The Satellite Pro A120 is the first in a range of notebooks, which have been thoroughly tested using the HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Testing) procedure to ensure long-term reliability. HALT is a combination of technical stress tests covering extreme heat variation, resistance to shocks and repetitive vibration. A few examples of the improved product design is a stronger LCD display hinge, a more robust, spill-resistant keyboard and added Hard Disk Drive (HDD) protection. Typical areas for improvement also include soldering weak points, loose screws, weak harness area and weak connector joints.”
It’s not just the exterior that appeals but also the inside looks quite nice.
