Toshiba has developed a new technology to lure customers toward its notebooks. Picasus is a paint technology that uses special metallic colors to make the laptop change color depending on the angle of light. Similar technology is used by exotic cars, but will not be used to sell Toshiba Qosmio T750.

Toshiba Qosmio T750 has a Picasus paint that shifts from turkoise to deep purple depending on the angle. Toshiba points out that the chameleon paint does not use any heavy metals like similar technology many times do.

Under the chameleon exterior Toshiba has equipped the computer with an Intel Core i5-480M CPU at 2.66 GHz and 4GB DDR3 RAM. The monitor measures 15.6″ with 1366×768 pixel resolution. To tweak the hardware package further Toshiba has installed the Cell-based SpursEngine processor to handle the video processing, which seems like a good idea since there is also a TV-tuner and remote in the bundle.

Blu-ray player, 750GB harddrive, HDMI output and USB 2.0 ports are other features worth mentioning. Although we feel that nacre colors is a bit pre-2011 it’s a shame that Toshiba only sells the laptop in Japan.
