Intel Centrino, Viiv and vPro are all three names of different hardware platforms in Intel’s assortment. This naming process of platforms and gathered technologies had its first successful launch with the Centrino platform. Centrino is considered by many as a synonym to laptops and that is just Intel wanted to achieve, to tie up a technolog with the concept, the concept being laptops. Since the launch of Centrino Intel has released new platforms called Viiv and vPro. The first is Centrino’s equivalent for multimedia computers where it has set the specifications for what a computer in a multimedia environment is suppose to offer, while vPro is intended for companies and such that require secure and high performing platforms.
