The mobile phone needs to be redefined

The mobile phone is more or less a given in each man’s pocket or every woman’s purse (generalizing of course). The thing is that the phones we’re all carrying around today are all becoming more and more multi-functional and even the simplest models of today can do many tasks you usually don’t associate with phones. In a column over at BusinessWeek they’ve discussed this and that it’s perhaps time to start pondering about a new name for this handheld piece of electronics. Calling it just a mobile phone is really neglecting many of the things it can do.
