The DDR3 overclocking results are starting to surface and after reporting about a Micron DDR3 module pushed to incredible 2200MHz, from its stock frequency of 1066MHz, new results have appeared. The micron module was running in a single channel configuration, in other words a setup few users would actually use. A couple of dual-channel results have appeared and the overclocker Simani seems to have reached highest with two Team Group DDR3-1066 modules running at mighty impressive 2036MHz on an ASUS P5K3-Deluxe motherboard, based on Intel’s new P35 chipset. Except from the fact that he is using a dual-channel kit and runs it at more than 2000MHz, Simani has also managed to tweak the memory latencies somewhat.
At 2036MHz the two DDR3 modules was using 9-7-6-20 latencies, which is far from what we would call aggressive, but really good for being DDR3 as most 1333 modules are specified for 9-9-9-27 latencies.
