TDK has been one of the pioneers when it comes to developing the new storage media Blu-ray. It was the first to ship writeable Blu-ray media and has been working hard on devloping the technology further, where we’ve seen reports of 200GB Blu-ray media. Now TDK has once again displayed its capabilities when it comes to developing the Blu-ray format, it has namely displayed Blu-ray media that can be written at 6x speed, no less than three times faster than the first generation media and writers working at 2x speed. The prototype it displayed at an event in Japan recently will not be very useful anytime soon, mainly because of limitations with the first generation Blu-ray writers. But at least it seems that there will be media available when the writers gets the faster.
