Zotac likes the smaller systems. The latest ZBOX Blu-ray mini-PC will be the first of its kind with the minimal measurements of a mini-PC, but the power and possibility to play Blu-ray movies. Thanks to an integrated Blu-ray player and ION 2.
Zotac ZBOX Blu-ray mini-PC uses Intel’s dual-core Atom D525 CPU together with NVIDIA’s ION 2 GPU to enable playback of both Blu-ray and flash video without performance drops.
Zotac has chosen an ION circuit with 16 shaders and given the GPU 512MB DDR3 RAM. The integrated Blu-ray player is of course slot-in to fit with the minimal format and also support burning of DVDs and CDs. Zotac ships ZBOX Blu-ray mini-PC with a copy of Cyberlink PowerDVD 8 and offers a lot of other nice features.
This includes USB 3.0 ports, 802.11n WiFi and a mini-PCI Express port. Zotac offers the unit in two configurations, with 2GB DDR2-800 RAM and 250GB harddrive, or without RAM or harddrive for the picky user.
The design is rather atypical for a mini-PC and it looks more like a piece of home electronics than a computer, which does make it better suited for the living room.
