Intel has launched a new series of SSDs for businesses, called 710, It has been optimized for long and hectic workloads. With the same good ol’ SATA 3.0 Gbps controller as in the Intel 320 series, the 710 series is paired with a new version of flash memory made with 25nm technology and can handle up to 30 times more writes than regular MLC-NAND.

Intel 710 series of SSDs is not speed freak, but with a classic aluminum 2.5″ suit there is nothing on the surface that reveals the market intentions. Even if the memory cells are still MLC (Multi level-chip) they have a new technology called HET (High Endurance Technology) that will give the chips SLC-like durability, while it maintains the better price ration of the MLC technology.

As a successor to Intel X25-E the 710 series has high requirements from businesses, something Intel says the High Endurance Technology can deliver.

The nya series faster than the old one and can write 30 times more data s previous MLC SSDs. It also has protection against data losses when the power breaks. The disk can write 1.1 Petabytes (PB) from scratch and comes in sizes 100GB, 200GB and 300GB.
