Microsoft payed not all that long ago the South Korean web portal Daum $30 million. Now it seems it’s time to pay up again as it once again has been fined $32 million by the country’s Fair Trade Commission. The reason for the fine is Microsoft’s Windows operating system which has both an Instant Messenger application and Media Player software integrated into the system. This ”package” is to the South Korean FTC a violation of the trade laws and therefor forces Microsoft to sell its operating system in a version without these two applications. This isn’t the first time Microsoft has been fined for violating trade laws with its IM and Media player software as it has already been forced to offer Windows in Europe without these applications.
