Small preview imageSony continues it struggle with taking down Apples iPod from the top of the hill. Its latest creation, Sony NW-E205, or ”the Bean” is a very interesting addition to the MP3-playermarket. You don’t need to look twice to understand where the name ”the Bean” comes from. The MP3-player has namely very similar to a bean and why it chose such a bizarre design is a mystery, but it probably had a good reason. The bean is avialable in four different colors, not green though.

Except for its unique design the bean supports both Sony’s own ATRAC3 format and the MP3-format. The player has a one-line OLED-display and an integrated battery, which can be charged through the USB-port, which should result in about 50h playtime. The storagecapacity for NW-205E is 512MB. ”The Bean (I just can’t stop saying that) will be available in stores in the middle of September at £79.
