Small preview imageSony S205 is a new series of LCD-monitors by Sony and two of the models it has launched has a 20.1″ LCD-panel. Unfortunately we’re talking about regular 4:3 panels. It would’ve been nice with widescreen as it is becoming quite common these days. The panel uses a UXGA-resolution at 1600x1200px and the S205 series has been specially designed for handling portraits and landscape viewing with Sony’s Pivot-software. S205 also uses Sonys Advanced ECO-Mode technology that detects the environmental lighting and automatically adjusts the monitors settings for optimal image quality. Both Sony S205F and Sony S205K has three video inputs, two analog VGA-inputs and one DVI-input. Which makes it possible to use the same monitor with thee computer, which Sony S205K will take advantage of to the fullest.

Sony S205K namely has an integrated KVM-switch (Keyboard Video and Mouse switching) with support for USB-keyboard and mouse. In other words you will be able to control two computer with the same mouse and keyboard through Sony S205K.

”With KVM, a single USB keyboard and mouse connected to the display can control two PCs so long as they in turn are linked via USB to the monitor. At a stroke, desk clutter is halved, and convenience doubled. Even the cabinet has been designed to make life easier, with a narrow bezel to make side-by-side multiple monitor arrays look and work better, and removable rear covers for safer, better-looking cable management.”
