Sony PSP’s replacement may already be under development if we are to believe the lastest information. We have already heard that Sony is working on an updated version of the present console, but the new rumor states that it is a completely new unit. If these rumors are about the same unit or if Sony is working on both of these projects is uncertain. Anyhow, Shacknews has now received information about a ”PSP 2” that will use an integrated harddrive and disregard of the UMD format, both with games and other media. Its source called the unit PSP 2 and said that it was under development and would appear on the market sometime in the next three years. On the side of things we recently heard of NVIDIA’s new design contract with Sony, which may very well be a new graphics circuit for the PSP 2 now that it has finished its work with the RSX for the Playstation 3.
