I’ve gotten some questions on the upcoming 790i chipset from NVIDIA, so here goes. As we reported a while back, the chipsets have been moved back and right now it looks like March is ”at best”. nForce 790i will be offered in two flavors, 790i Ultra and 790i SLI. If you know your NVIDIA, you also know that SLI is the high-end version, while Ultra is the … entry model of the 790i series. Both chipset are DDR3 exclusive, and support Tri-SLI and Intel’s 1600MHz FSB processors, but 790i SLI is suppose to be the better overclocker and support SLI-certified memory modules at frequencies up to 2000MHz.
