On Mars 29 Athlon 64 and FX will take a big step forward in its development, with the launch of 3700+ and FX-53. At the same time Socket 939 will be launched which makes it possible for the regular Athlon 64 to use Dual-Channel.

These are no facts, but now X-Bit Labs has gotten their hands on some information about the next step after 3700+ and FX-53. The fourth quarter 4000+ and FX-55 willb launched, and this time it’s the memory controller that gets an upgrade. 4000+ and FX-55 but also a new version of the 3700+ will have support for DDR-II-memories with the speeds 566, 667 and 800MHz. In conjunction with this they will step over to 0.09µm, and we can aonly hope that it will go smoother then step from 0.18 to 0.13µm went.

For a good overview of teh changes I recommend VR-Zone’s table. Source X-bit Labs.

This is of course only rumours and much can happen before nov-dec, but X-Bit Labs are usually reliable.
