Microsoft has launched a new microsite called ”PC versus Mac” that goes straight to the point and compares a Windows PC to Apple Mac and OS X. What could be considered an advertisement campaign more than an impartial comparison really shows how far Apple has come.
Microsoft makes no direct comparisons between the two platforms but simply shows what works better on a Windows PC than an OS X Mac. It focuses on the broad selection of applications for Windows, but also more specific advantages like the support for Blu-ray and a sturdier platform for games.
All comparisons are hardly fair, but the interesting bit is how Microsoft feel the need to compare and to highlight the obvious about Windows. Is Microsoft starting to feel threatened?
