Silverstone keeps presenting new solutions for the HTPC market and the latest creation is called Grandia GD06. Silverstone focus on small motherboards and with amplifier-like dimensions there is good cooling in a surprisingly shallow case.
Silverstone Grandia GD06 measures 440 mm (B) x 150 mm (H) x 340 mm (D), which is nearly identical to Grandia GD05. The idea with these HTPC cases is to house a lot of powerful hardware, for example full-size graphics cards and hot processors. This while fitting inside shallow stereo and TV furnitures with a depth of only 340mm.
This is possible through rigorous cooling that consists of three 120mm fans, once again the same as GD05. Grandia GD06 has a stylish and lockable front hatch that hides an optical drive and USB 3.0 and audio ports, which is an improvement over the last model.
The case is made from steel while the front is aluminum and also hides two hot-swappable 3.5″ drives. Grandia GD06 houses a total of five harddrives and one 5.25″ unit.
