SanDisk and Toshiba are just as Samsung convinced that NAND flash is the storage technology of the future and will become the second biggest storage technology after the harddrive. To further prove its faith in the technology SanDisk and Toshiba has announced that it will build a new NAND flash plant together in Japan. This is to be able to reach the growing demand of NAND flash circuits through products such as MP3 players and other portable units. We consumers can only watch and pray that SanDisk and Toshiba’s venture will bring us more and cheaper NAND flash circuits, which also means that Samsung has gotten a real tough competitor now.
