Quanta is a [mobile phone] manufacturer with close ties to Apple as it is already manufacturing both MacBooks and iPods. Previous reports have told us that Apple turned to Foxconn for making Apple iPhone, the phone that will arrive in just a few weeks. This is the first generation iPhone, but Quanta has now made a statement that reveals a second generation iPhone. Quanta has namely received orders of 5 million phones until September and according to Quanta this is the ”second generation iPhone.” A model that will sport similar features as the first, but with a new case and tuned hardware.
As long as Quanta hasn’t screwed up in the translation of the company news, this means that Apple has big plans for its iPhone and will update it soon. We’re wondering how this will affect the sales of the first generation of iPhone.
