PowerColor isn’t afraid of trying new things with its graphics cards and from adding a network processor it has moved on to adding a Lucid Hydra bridge chip, which enables multi-GPU configurations together with NVIDIA cards.

PowerColor Radeon HD 5770 Evolution has, beside a Juniper GPU and 1GB GDDR5 memory, a Hydra chip that enables some very interesting graphics card combinations. Beside using an NVIDIA-made card you can of course build multi-GPU setups with other AMD graphics cards.

The card operates with 850 MHz GPU frequency and 4 800 MHz memory clock. Unfortunately we don’t know how or if this implementation of Hydra is different from the motherboards that also has the chip, but so far the drivers aren’t mature enough to let us find out.
