The energy consumption of our components is increasing continuously with processors that consumes over 100W and with the launch of GTX 590 and HD 6990 both NVIDIA and AMD raised the bar for graphics cards to 365W and then 375W. Many would have needed a new power supply to upgrade, but Add2Psu looks to make the upgrade a lot easier.

There are plenty of people that have two power supplies and are running them side by side, but the problem is that you need to cut and connect wires, which is not something everyone is up for. Add2Psu makes the processor very simple, with a very small and simple circuit board.

It is quite imple in its function. You connect your primary power supply to Add2Psu with a 4-pin Molex and 24-pin cable from the secondary power supply. When you boot the computer, the primary power supply will start the secondary power supply via the Molex cable.

When the power breaks from the primary one, the secondary also turns off. It is a pretty straight forward plug’n’play solution. Add2Psu is marketed as a solution for those who wants to save money with two cheaper power supplies. The problem as we see it is that you need a case with room for two units and that each Add2Psu costs $20 plus shipping.
