Phenom II X6 will be in stores on April 26th. It will be AMD’s first retail hexa-core CPU and this week the processors have started shipping to media, distributors and stores. While we await our test sample the first pictures of retail products have found their way onto the web, not surprisingly in Asia.

At Expreview they have shared pictures of three boxed Phenom II X6 T1055 processors sporting six cores operating at 2.8GHz, expected to appear in two suits. According to our previous sources the power consumption will be different and if other sources seem to indicate that Phenom II X6 T1055 with 125W TDP will cost around $200.

Expreview claims the models photographed cost around $270, which would sooner indicate they are the 95W model, or the previous source was wrong.

Processor Clock. Turbo TDP Price
Phenom II X4 965 BE 4 x 3,4GHz 125W ~$160
Phenom II X6 1090T 6 x 3,2GHz 3,6GHz 125W ~ $290
Phenom II X6 1075T 6 x 3,0GHz 3,5GHz 125W ?
Phenom II X6 1055T 6 x 2,8GHz 3,3GHz 125W ~$200
Phenom II X6 1055T 6 x 2,8GHz 3,3GHz 95W ~$270?
Phenom II X6 1035T 6 x 2,6GHz 3,1GHz 95W ?

So far this is mostly speculation, but with six healthy cores, a continued reasonable power consumption and dynamic overclocking technology Turbo CORE we really look forward to AMD’s new processor series. The top model is expected to cost around $300, which is many times cheaper than the competing models from Intel.
