OCZ continues to roll out new SSDs. Even though the latest Vertex 3 family is still absent from stores we now have an even faster one with higher IOPS. Vertex 3 Max IOPS is simply a SF-2200 SSD optimized for IOPS performance, in this case 75,000 IOPS.

OCZ Vertex 3 is the class leading with a specified IOPS of 60,000 IOPS with 4K files. This gives SSDs very good performance at heavy loads with both high and quick data transfers.

OCZ Vertex 3 Max IOPS increase this number to 75,000 IOPS with 4K files for the 120GB model, while the larger 240GB model has to settle for 65,000 IOPS.

”Following the successful launch of our Vertex 3 SATA III 6Gbps solid state drives we are pleased to introduce the new Max IOPS edition,” said Ryan Petersen, CEO of OCZ Technology Group. ”Vertex 3 Max IOPS drives increase random write performance, and are the ideal storage solution for applications that require high aggregate workloads and increased IO throughput.”

The new Vertex 3 Max IOPS series is already listed in stores and prices are around 250€ for the 120GB model and 570€ for the 240GB model, which means a price premium of around 20-30€ and 130€ over the regular Vertex 3 models.
