They have finally reached an agreement, NVIDIA and Intel agreed on
a contract going several years into the future.

”LONDON — NOVEMBER 19TH, 2004 — NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA), a
worldwide leader in graphics and digital media processors, today announced that
the companies have signed a broad, multi-year patent cross-license agreement
spanning multiple product lines and product generations. Additionally, the
companies signed a multi-year chipset agreement for NVIDIA to license Intel’s
front-side bus technology. This will enable NVIDIA to deliver the NVIDIA nForce™
platform technology on Intel-based systems.”

Meaning NVIDIA will be able to produce main circuits (mainboards
chipsets) not only for AMDs platforms but also Intel’s equivalents.
This
means that we will within a near future see nForce-based mainboards also
for Intel’s processor platform, which of course includes NVIDIA’s
SLI-technology.
The latter is of course one of the main arguments for this
deal since NVIDIA probably have all the intentions of implementing SLI also on
Intel’s platform.

All together this is some very big and interesting news tht will affect the
PC market in a major way.
