GeForce Go 7900 GTX and GeForce Go 7900 GS is the name of two new graphics circuits by NVIDIA and as the name implies these are mobile circuits. Now that NVIDIA launch its GeForce Go circuits officially there are two 7900-based models that will be found in high performance laptops as they are closely related to the desktop series 7900. GeForce Go 7900 GTX is actually nothing more than a downclocked GeForce 7900 GTX with some nice power saving functions; there is nothing missing from the desktop architecture. The performance of the Go 7900 GTX should be somewhere between GeForce 7900 GT and 7900 GTX, which is a quite powerful mobile circuit.

Go 7900 GS is a bit more stripped with fewer pixel and vertex shaders and considerably lower frequencies. But Go 7900 GS will still perform really well compared to many other mobile circuits, and that is with a consumption at a mere 20W. Go 7900 GTX has a power consumption at 45W according to NVIDIA’s documentation.

There is so far no benchmarks from any reliable sources, but at PC Perspective they’ve published more information about NVIDIA’s new mobile circuits.
