nForce 500 will be the name of NVIDIA’s new chipset series, that among others will be used by AMD’s new Socket AM2 platform. NVIDIA has now announced that it will reveal the first nForce 500 based motherboard at CeBIT and smong these you will find boards ranging budget to high performance. The most obvious news with the nForce 500 chipset is the following according to NVIDIA;


:: Support for NVIDIA SLI technology—including Quad SLI—the industry’s most stable and game-compatible multi-GPU solution and the only one designed for the use of up to 4 GPUs simultaneously


:: NVIDIA MediaShield™ technology supporting a myriad of storage options, including dual RAID 5




:: Support for up to 10 USB 2.0 devices and up to six SATA 3Gb/s hard drives and


:: Support for the upcoming dual-core AMD® Socket AM2 processors


NVIDIA’s next generation chipsets will appear on the market in the middle of 2006, most likely at the same time as AMD launch Socket AM2.
