NEC has presented a new design concept for the future of office monitors. Office Cool may not be the most inventive name, but the idea is sound. NEC focuses on minimalistic design with thin bezels and LED technology for better performance lower power consumption.
NEC MultiSync EX231W is the first of NEC’s new venture and behind the 23″ TN panelwe find W-LED backighting (White LED) for high brightness and at the same time a greener line with lower power consumption – 24 watt with ECO mode.
NEC has chosen to use 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, which we think is a bit dull, but it keeps the price down. On the back we find a rigorous amount of in and outputs with both DVI, DisplayPort and USB. The manufacturer boasts with certifications for EPEAT Gold Seal and TCO 5.0.
The monitor has 5ms response time and 25,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. Other features worth mentioning is 14mm thin bezel and 250 cd/m2 brightness.
NEC MultiSync EX231W will appear in October in black or white theme.
