Antec takes the next step in broadening its product lineup and is entering the audio market, with the subsidiary Sound Science. It demonstrated its creations at Computex last week and even if the products are still under evaluation we’re curious to learn what Antec will offer.

Tech Report tested the first product during Computex, two aluminum-based monitors and a subwoofer. The result was relatively good even if there was some distortion on one of he audio samples they had.

The target consumer is the younger audience, such as students and gamers, looking for an all-round solution for gaming, movies and music on the PC. The price will be around 200-250 USD for the package, which is a bit steep considering the intended buyer, but Antec said that since these aren’t afraid to pay up for a video upgrade of the same size an audio upgrade of the same altitude shouldn’t be that unlikely.
